Let us introduce you to Melco’s Heritage Blend coffee – producing a delicious full bodied coffee drink with cocoa sweetness, subtle acidity and a lingering, satisfying finish.
Our flavoursome Heritage coffee is created by expertly blending mainly Caturra, Bourbon, Heirloom and Pacas bean varietals. The addition to the blend of a small amount of Robusta coffee completes the flavour picture by introducing additional body to the mouthfeel as well as a longer finish. The Robusta coffee element also allows the flavour and finish to cut through milk, making this blend and excellent choice for lattes and cappuccinos.
The coffee beans for this exquisite dark roast blend are grown in Central America, India and Ethiopia at altitudes from 800 to 2000 miles above sea level. Harvesting of the beans takes place from April through to January, depending on region and varietal to ensure that they are picked at their very best.
Our Ethiopian beans come from the Sidamo region in Southern Ethiopia which spreads across the fertile highlands south of Lake Awasa in the Rift Valley. Within the region are many varying microclimates and altitudes.
All beans in the Heritage coffee are prepared with a fully washed process, the Central American beans in particular being soaked in water for 36 hours to accentuate the natural fruity acidity.
